Chris Wagner

Christopher R. Wagner

  • 31 years’ experience in various energy-related corporate and investment banking, corporate finance and advisory roles.

  • Co-founded Rivington Holdings in 2002

    • Independent merchant and investment banking firm specializing in private capital transactions and corporate finance advisory services for the middle market, upstream energy sector.

    • Managing Partner, individual responsibilities include business development, deal execution and corporate strategy.

    • Structured, negotiated and successfully managed a credit joint venture with a >$400 billion investment manager, ultimately managing three credit investments totaling $275 million.

    • >335% IRR/ 8x ROI (cash/cash) to the firm’s investors to date through the successful execution of 102 capital and advisory transactions (96 sole managed; 50 individual clients) with an aggregate value exceeding $8.4 billion.

  • Prior to Rivington Holdings, Chris was a founding member and Chief Financial Officer of Shenandoah Energy Inc.

    • Upstream entity focused on the Rocky Mountain region.

    • Formed in December 1999 with a private capital investment from Shell Capital, Prudential Insurance, Chevron USA and several high-net-worth investors.

    • Sold in July 2001 for ~$425 million, yielding 115% IRR / 3.4x ROI to the equity holders.

  • From 1993 to 1999, Chris was employed by ING Baring Furman Selz LLC (New York) in the Natural Resources Group. While at ING, Chris’ team originated and executed corporate finance and investment banking transactions within the small cap upstream energy space.

  • From 1990 to 1993, Chris worked in the Petroleum & Minerals group of First City, Texas in Houston.

  • Serves on the Board of Managers for Larchmont Resources, LLC, a privately held, institutionally backed independent producer with interests in over 2,500 producing wells located in seven states.

  • Serves on the Advisory Council for the Department of Economics at The University of Texas at Austin.

  • B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

  • Numerous social and professional associations, energy related organizations and industry related speaking engagements.


Scott Logan

  • Co-Founded Rivington in 2002 – 25 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, corporate finance and advisory roles within the oil and gas industry.

  • Prior to founding Rivington, Scott was with McDonald Investment’s Energy Investment Banking Group focusing on public equity issuances and sell-side M&A assignments.

  • Prior to joining McDonald, Scott was with BankBoston’s Energy & Utilities Group, and he began his energy lending career in the Natural Resources Group of ING Baring Furman Selz LLC in 1997. 

  • Scott graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1991 with a B.A. in History, and the University of Denver in 1997 with an M.S. in Finance.


Mark Olivier

  • Over 16 years of corporate and investment banking experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • Prior to joining Rivington in July 2012, Mark was a member of J.P. Morgan’s Corporate Banking Group in Houston where he was primarily focused on the execution of syndicated and leveraged loans for mid to large-cap oil and gas companies.

  • Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mark was an Associate with GE Energy Financial Services and Merrill Lynch Capital where he focused on underwriting and structuring debt and equity investments in independent exploration and production companies.

  • Mark received a B.B.A in Finance and Accounting from Texas Christian University and an M.B.A from Rice University’s Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management.


Mark Green

  • More thank 35 years of energy finance experience

  • Prior to joining Rivington, Mark was the President of Madava Financial, a specialty finance company targeting credit investments in upstream and midstream companies. While at Madava, Mark and his team originated over $300 Million of loans over a two year period, which fully deployed the Company’s initial capital base.

  • Mark was previously the President of Wells Fargo Energy Capital (“WFEC”), which deployed over $5 Billion across roughly 250 debt and equity transactions during his 12-year tenure. In addition, he was a member of the leadership team for the Wells Fargo Energy Group, one of the largest capital providers to the Energy sector. Mark led a team of investment professionals providing acquisition and development capital to upstream and midstream companies in the US and Canada. Investments were made across the capital structure and included development loans, unitranche loans and subordinated/2nd lien debt as well as common and preferred equity investments. Mark served on the Boards of several WFEC portfolio companies and his duties also included managing Wells Fargo’s investments in over 35 energy-focused private equity funds.

  • Mark holds a BBA in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA Southern Methodist University.


Richard Smith

Richard Smith
Vice President

  • Over 6 years of corporate and investment banking experience.

  • Prior to joining Rivington in June 2018, Richard was an Analyst at J.P. Morgan where he focused on corporate asset based lending.

  • Received a B.S. in Finance from Louisiana State University.


Julie Bloomer

Julie Bloomer
Office Manager

  • Over 23 years of experience in administrative support, including fourteen years with Rivington in both Denver and Houston.

  • Prior to joining Rivington, Julie worked for Brown, Dean, Wiseman, Liser, Proctor and Hart, LLC, a civil law firm in Fort Worth, TX.

  • Julie attended the University of Texas at Arlington.
